Cookieventure # 5: Christmas Giveaways: Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chocolate Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting

Every year, we give small gifts to our friends, and colleagues like planners, pens, notepads, etc. But this year, we've decided to give out something more personal - home-made cookies and cupcakes.

Earlier this week, we dropped by my favorite store, Limcon, to buy a few ingredients and materials. We were able to buy, a pack of mini cups, plastic pouches, cupcake boxes, mini cupcake tray, confectioner's sugar, and other ingredients used in the previous post for only Php 747.50.

The cupcakes that we made are the same ones as did before (found here: http://mycookietasticdiary.blogspot.com/2013/10/cookieventure-2-chocolate-cupcakes-with.html), except that we used smaller cups to achieve a bite size version. We also used yellow coloring to give color to our frosting, and added sprinkles for color (it is after all the colorful holidays).

PS: Truly sorry for the crappy photo.

Now, let's move on to the other giveaway - the Chocolate Chip Cookies. I don't think I have shared with you yet how we make these, so shall we get started? Do note, I was not able to take photos on how we make them, but I'll try to give you a step by step.
Ingredients are as follows (makes about 12 cookies):
  • All purpose flour
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Sugar
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
(1) Pre-heat the oven to 170 degree Celsius.
(2) Cream together the brown and white sugar with the butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
(3) Mix in the all the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt) to our creamed mixture.
(4) When it reaches a dough like consistency, start mixing in our chocolate chips. If you're using a cup of chocolate chips, mix these in by half to avoid "choco-chip lumps" in one are of your dough. Or you may also add in some nuts if you want.
(5) Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the dough onto your cookie sheets.

Whew! I hope that was helpful enough. :)

There you go. We do hope they would love these baked goodies, and appreciate our efforts.

Happy Holidays everyone! :)
